I have been bitten by a cuttlefish, it HURT, i thought it was funny having it crawl on my hand until it took a bite! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' /> <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
I used the head as a snapper bait the next day and caught a 6.5kg snapper so i was wrapped <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />

sure was Glen, i was wrapped! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />
Froglet although not a bite, the suckers on arrow squid tentacles can put some serious scratches on the tops of your hand if not handled correctly <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' /> .
i now grab arrows by the tip of their hood and dump them in a bucket before they get a chance to wrap any tentacles around my hands <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />

Ive never been bitten but Ive copped a ripper of an ink squirt straight up the trouser leg as I was pulling up a nice 3 kilo specimen on St Leonards pier he was huge and just as I got his head up out the water he let rip
I was fishing the landing part of the pier which meant I was alot closer to the surface of the water had I been fishing else where and he managed a full squirt which left me to go back to the car to clean up.
A good squid fisho always takes a change of clothes but yet again a good squid fisho shouldnt get sprayed LOL

one day 2 years ago i was squid fishing at greencape N.S.W. and i caught a squid about 1.5-2kg. i brought it in by hand and was surprised to see there was no ink, i thought it must have used it all on the jigg. i was about to put it in the bucket when whoosh ink everywhere!!! luckily i didnt get too much on me but im sure it gave people a good place to go squid fishing as there was ink all over the rocks <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

hi poodge, where abouts at green cape did you catch the squid? i have been there once a long time ago and have always been keen to go back again! It did not occur to me to try for squid at the time....we were trying to catch tuna...none were actually caught but there was lots of pretty rock fish, wrasse etc to keep us occupied. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

we stay at a campsite in ben boyd national park, and fish, spear and squid in bitangabee bee (about 1mins walk). we squidded off the rocks into the sheltered bit of the bay opposite the beach. ill try and find some photos.

i ve got squirted once when i was squiding with a hand wheel. i reeled it back really slowly and even paused for a while to let it empty its ink, but it still managed to get me all over. I guess it was meant to happen with hand wheel <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ink' />
