In a recent article titled [url="http://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/news/local/atlantic/story/5859406p-5874473c.html"]"NET PROFITS New Jersey fishermen land record catch"[/url], the Vice President of Lund's Fisheries in New Jersey explained that Americans are increasingly including squid in their diet.



Quote:Byrne also noted that American tastes are changing. While the summer squid, called illex squid, is still mostly exported, Byrne noted more than 90 percent of the winter squid fishery, loligo squid, is now being sold right here in America.



“Almost every restaurant you go to now has a calamari appetizer,” Byrne said.
