I fish a pippi or mussel down deep under a small tear drop float and get both leatheries and trevally using this method at Mornington
ok thanks supersquid, do you use small sinkers such as split shots to weigh it down, or is it weightless?

PJ if you have never fished for them then may I suggest using long shank hooks with a short steel leader as Leatheries can bite through your line
thats a good idea,
thanks supersquid ill definately use a heavy leader! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='
