Quote:4. Nantucket Sound â Not too many squid have braved the cool water. With water temps as low as the mid-40s last week, action was light to say the least. Some squid in Hyannis Harbor, reports of them getting caught in weirs, too, but not the heavy numbers that attract many gamefish.

No- I don't run a generator on the boat either.....and I catch a lot. Hyannis has enough lites and is shallow so you don't need lites.

Cold wet and quiet is how things were looking this AM off Hyannis.
Most of the private boats were back in by 9, the weather is lousy and the bite is slow- east wind is a killer
The party and charters will all be in later so I'll post an update then.
Pray for SW <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/fishie.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

Please keep us posted. I think Helen-H cancel squid trips last couple days.
Last night was miserable in Newport when it started drizzling after mid-night. Lucky I packed all my gear right before mid-night because there was no bite.

Helen H and Hyline are both canceled today (due to the weather)<img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':oops' />
The smaller charters are going.
I'm going tomorrow.
Saw some beautiful tautog come off the Sea Queen Friday and a couple small sea bass too <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Next weeks weather looks a whole lot brighter. The fishing will definitely take off in the next few days. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blueboxbullet.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

Stopped in theis evening 7:30 saw 2 guys with one squid they said they'd been fishing 2 hours. It was very cold and windy. Hotel across the street $90/nite on weekend for harbor view; maybe next saturday nite.

Hmmm, must be draggers I don't know, because out of the 4 draggers that are in Hyannis, Carol R- American Pride, Alosa and Busty- none of them are going. Unless of course you meant another harbor?
This is the worst squid run we've had since 2002 when I only caught 350 #'s, usually I am good for around 5,000#'s for the run, on average.
This weather that we have coming is only going to make things even worse.

And- You sent my order a week late.....and your jigs don't catch our squid very good.

All you have to do to know how the fishing is, is look at the webcam in Hyannis Harbor
and see if these 2 boats are at the dock or not, in the AM. If these 2 boats are out- there's fish, if they are in, the weather is really bad , or there is lousy fishing.

Loligo, Tx for that link. This weekend looks like a washout. Are you jigging 5k#'s in a run or are you running one of the boats?

Jigging.
Average good run for a dragger is 50k+
My best year was (1999) 11,000 pounds, jigged, 2 guys part time, me full time- 13 trips
