Drove the causeway today. I didn't see anything going on...... Hopefully soon
Drove up to sakonnet last night not one person squidding.tried for a bit with no luck.i think by this weekend we'll c something starting to happen
I think squid season gonna be deley this year.

As far as I know when cherry blossom blooming squid season start but I think cherry blossom will be bloom about week later.

Also I predicting it could be slow squid season.

I never know until it start it but that's how I feel it for this year.

Went to Newport yesterday, no sign of squid, no one there , but i still fished for an hour , nothing. Just cool and windy.

Lucky bait in Warren has a ton of squid jigs in stock and they are on the way to Newport.

My squid jig from japan arriving Tuesday May 5.  Wednesday May 6 is the new moon and the incoming high tide is at night.  The water temp. is steady climbing.  May 6 I'll be at Sakonnet and hopefully bring back some good news until then happy squiding.      

Tried Bristol tonight.no squid but there were quite a few baby flat fish swimming under the lights and lots of grass shrimp.any day now

If you're driving far, I wouldn't rush. Two things that I never believe: A rumor of squid, especially from Dave Henault, as he makes lots of money selling squid jigs which no one buys if there aren't any squid around; Or a report of squid from a first-time poster without any corroboration. That said, schoolies are here, so they must be chasing some bait. Who's going out tonight to confirm?

Thanks for the advice.  Im not too far from newport and would have to see ink to believe.

Dont waste your time driving all the way to Newport the squid are not there! I just did wasted 2 hours driving each way, Who ever posted it should be banned from the site for false info!!!!!!!!!!1
