I will be on a motor cruising holiday in the adriatic (croatia) in the summer and will be taking along some squid jigs and rod and line etc.
Do squid come in to shallow water during the night or are there more squid in deep water?
Any advice on best way to catch them would be appreciated. I will be anchored in a bay or harbour during the night time.
The squid will be congregating in shallow water around bays and small islands at night. Just fan cast your squid jig from shore or pier. You also have a chance at catching an octopus or two. I've only fished for them in southern Croatia arround Dubrovnik. What part of Croatia are you going to?

I am picking the boat up from Biograd na Moru and cruising around the Kornati for a week. We will be stopping for a day/night in Murter so may look you up, time permitting.
As we all love to eat fresh squid, thought it would be a good idea to get my sons to catch squid during the night to stop them getting bored and take their minds off the playstation back at home!

Not my website just something I found for you on the web. I live in California. If you speak Croatian here is another website with alot of good info on speacies and their feeding habitats and season. I went squid fishing from Zaton at a nearby island. Gdje zivis?
