1/2/08 - Got 25 large squid in boat out from Pt Hughes. Took squid jags readily when they found them. Best thing was they were large. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' /> Also got some gar and 2 bronze sharks. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> A shark also took a squid jag and float. No K.Gs.

Cleaned tubes and flaps from slime. Cut tentacles off at head and used a new recipe to cook and marinate. Excellent result. Didn't clean slime or suckers off and still tops. Looks like the flaps will be used this way in the future rather than the fiddly cleaning and the time they take. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />

Anytime, great to be a part of this forum <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> I'll post some more news when I head out there again.
I went squidding from Monday-Wednesday morning at Port Hughes/Moonta. On Monday night at Moonta no action at all for squidding, kept getting jagged on the seaweed as it is very shallow now than it once used to be. Tuesday morning went to Port Hughes, once again not much action only a few gar catches here and there. On Tuesday evening at Port Hughes I caught a massive squid then it died down again with not much action. Wednesday morning not much action either.

Now I'll be waiting until August until the season begins once again.

Happy Squidding Everyone!
I'm going to Port Hughes in a couple of weeks, it's that great time of year again! Bring on the squidding!
hope you catch heaps! good luck <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
Camback from Port Hughes on Thursday last week lunch time from a Monday-Thursday trip. There was some very rough windy conditions especially on early Tuesday morning after the cold front. There wasn't much action on the Tuesday evening but on Wednesday morning I ended up with 3 squid and another 2 in the evening. On the Thursday morning there was once again very windy conditions and I had a massive tangle with the line and I lost a good hour of fishing in the morning <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' /> and I had to cut the line. Then with that cut line I decided to hook a sinker onto it and put it alongside the squid jig and it got me two squid even though the winds were horrendous. That was half of what I caught last year. Oh well there is always next time.
