Mr. Boston and I actually want to thanks tym1 for letting us know about Boston Squid Fishing. I actually have doubt when tym1 told us about it.
I asked around local people (near the pier), they mention that in the past 3 yr, they actually see squids around, but no one actually squid for it. So my plan is May in Goat Island and June in Boston. As a matter of fact, I still catch squid until September in Boston Harbor, but not as crazy as in early May in New Port. Thanks tym1 (Kevin!)

I have a 23 patriot maritime skiff , so i can fish pretty much any time of the year. i had the boat in the harbor 2 weeks ago and looking forward to doing some cod fishing . Maybe you can show me the ropes for squiding in the harbor , do you fish from a boat.

' /> , Yes me,sfoxnh,1tym caught squid in Nut Island in quincy over this summer.. The squid we catch here in Boston is a bit smaller and doesnt run like they do in Newport but good enough to go after them.I believe we can catch them June-Sept, I too was surpised that we could catch squid right in our backyard but 1tym (Kevin) has proven us wrong...

mr boat guy... if you have a decent sounder.. i can tell you where the squid are =). if you have a decent color sounder and gps. i can tell you where the cod are =). but i just have to b on it. LOL.
But i am just a shore guy. Been tryin to get a wooden dory to row out to get to these spots.. (I cant find one i like for the money )

I have a great set up , furuno color fish finder , and a garmin color chart plotter , I know boston harbor very well as i have been fishing it all my life and have never caughgt a squid , I would really like to team up with you out there . I was out in the harbor last week just going for a ride so the boats ready to go.
I know i haven't met any of you guys yet but count me in and keep me posted for the first squid trip

Hey Guys. I was here last year. LAyed low on forums. But yeah. Super excited to Come from NH to Newport. LOL. Like every year I do. But I might be back on the bridge this year. Unfortunately snow has to fall and a lot of houses collapsed. Even worst MY GARAGE Collapsed on the back of my boat. Hopefully. I can just pull it out. But Squid usually comes in on the 25 of April. So you can expect me to be on the bridge then.

Funny I was just talking to my brother about our plan of attack for this coming squid season. I told him last night "i'll let you know when I get the first email from squidfish.net" Not 24hrs later and here we are.
I'm looking into alternatives to the bridge this year. Been hitting it up the past 3 yrs now and every year it gets worse. True it yields some nice catches on certain nights but the overcrowding and rudeness of a lot of people on that bridge has persuaded me to look into other options. Last year I even had a guy go so far as to reel up my line RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME and proceed to attempt to steal it. I wanted to heave him overboard! Plus in the event that trash becomes an issue again this year as it has in past, i'd like to have a backup plan JUST in case they shut it down like they've been threatening to do for a couple years now.
Either way i'm lookin forward to getting out there with you all and fillin up some buckets!

When people are literally being bussed in, i don't think it makes much difference, especially when the best action is at night. I've gone during the week, ,mornings, ,afternoons, nights , weekends and it's been PACKED within an hour of me arriving every single time. I've never once had a night there that it wasn't.
Just out of curiosity, (no racism intended) but doesn't anyone know why the bridge is always shoulder to shoulder asians? I noticed they get bussed there too but where from? On several occassions last yr. i saw multiple busses bringing hundreds of asians to the bridge. The only plus side is I'm taller than all of them so i can see over everyone and find my friends easily ...heh.

I, agree, we should all lead by example. And I don't mean to single you out 1Tym or to bust anybody's b*11$ and I hope I don't piss off any of the good folks here because I enjoy fishing with all of you.
