I have been wondering this too.

Yes I have been bitten by only very small squids (previously picked up by a dip net) while I was trying to bait them alive on the hook. That night, fishing from the drifting boat, with the pressure light on, we occasionally manage to pick up several very small squids at the time by the net, to use them later as a living bait for mackerels and horse mackerels. While I was manipulating to put them on hook, two of them have bite me pretty hard on the palm side of the finger. It was unpleasant experience, and I could not believe that the squid only 2 inches long can bite like that. That was my only experience from the bitting part of the squids.

Sorry Tatonka but I have kept lorikeets ,parakeets ,& parrots. The Parrots in Australia are the only birds known that can crack a macadamia nut !This is because they are unique in having a beak where both the upper & lower sections are articulated enabling them to exert trememdous pressure. They can ,if so inclined ,crack the bones in your fingers & toes ! A squid bite is like a loves kiss compared to a Parrot bite !

I' have been bitten in the face by a big red Macaw and really didnât enjoy the experience. When I was bitten by a small squid it actually broke the surface of my skin and surprised the hell out of me how much it could pinch. I suppose your right certain species of birds/parrots can really exert a lot of pressure, especially those adapted to break macadamia nuts.
I guess Iâm wondering how strong the bite from a giant squid would be. And, do parrots eat squid?

No. After I land them, I always use my knife to destroy their brains instantly. They never bite back after that, but on a serious note, I feel a quick death is humane. I got bittern by a very angry Jack Russell once, but thats probably for another time or place. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I'm not stupid enough to let a squid bite me...good rule of thumb is....just dont touch them untill they're dead.
came across a couple of people that had been bitten by big tiger squid and the bled like a bitch for an hour because they take a nice clean chunk out with no flap of skin left to cover the wound to stop the bleeding.
I've come close a few time so then I decided to make a landing net for sqiud to solve the problem.

Does squid bite people?I have never heard about this.

Yes they have a beak like a parrot. I have not been bitten by a squid but I have been bitten by a parrot (a sulphur crested cockatoo) and it hurt! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

If I still had my budgie, I would happily feed that to a squid.......Used to be lovely. Then turned psychotic. Kisses became vicious lunges for my nose, and my nose is a prominent feature of mine. No tears were shed when it exited during a door ajar moment........

No i have never been bitten by squid. I think it would be like an injection. What you think? If it happen, whats the quickest way to get rid of it?

Yes, I have been bitten by a squid. A few years back I ended my night with one last squid caught and when finished I started to clean them. Well the first squid I grabbed to clean must have been the last squid I caught because it was still alive! I went to stick my finger along the top to seperate it and the darn squid grabbed my finger. It wasn't the pain so much as the fact I was getting attacked by a squid I thought was dead. :lol  I may have screamed like a little girl...not sure.
