Ahoy me hearties!

Does anybody know of a good beach sheltered from this bleeding wind?
hey flounder pirate!

for a south westerley wind you could try Blairgowrie I guess! shame it is so far away!

i haven't been floundering for ages. have you tried lately?

cheers, glen
Eeeeargh...argh!

Ahoy Mike, good to see you back on squidfish <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wub.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wub' />

As Glen said Blairgowrie is good for protection from any wind from the south to the west. The other beaches inside PPB on the peninsula (sorrento etc) are also worth a look.

As for the other side of the bay - I reckon anywhere inside corio bay would be alright, also perhaps portarlington or st leonards if you can be bothered driving through geelong and out the other side.

EDIT I just had a peep at the PPB forecast, apparently you guys have north-north westely winds at the moment.

So I would be looking at anywhere from altona to werribee, and maybe avalon beach as well?
Arrgh. Haven't since I got married matey. It kind of put the brakes on any flounderin' action. But hopefully soon.
Ahoy Jazman.

It is good to see a post from you! How's the Jolly Roger flying?

I was actually thinking to try those exact beaches on the western side, but lately the water has been a bit choppy.

How's the fishing/Flounder action where you are?
Ahoy there mateys!

Here's a neat little trick for ye all.

Scope out likely spots and suitable beaches using Google Maps, it gives a great idea about the areas from the air.
hi pirate! ah hoi!

yes google maps is very good for that. we have been using it for an upcoming trip to Western Australia! it is a good way of avoiding mangroves and swamps etc while on foot. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />
