Hi Guys,

new to this forum. Glad to have found this forum as it seems all other forums are only about fishing. I would love to learn more about squidding. A mate caught 4 from Seaworld the night before, we went last night, zilch. I was disappointed. Anyone on the Gold Coast that is willing to teach a newbie in squidding? I am very willing to travel to Brisbane as well. In turn, I can take you guys fishing <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Cheers for that Paul
hell....what can I say...it was a DUD year up here in sunny brizzoland and my best session was only 11.

the BE club round of comps this year were lousy to say the least for the last 4 rounds but I managed a second place for the year.

there's still a couple of squid around and they are a very nice size but due to the northerly's blowing like mad the water clarity is going to the dogs now so it's time to chase mangrove jacks , cod ect to kill the summer.

till next year

the mug.
hi guys...long time
after a long time of chasing squid around the bayside here in brisbane a lot of my squid fishing mastes have been telling me to do lessons for beginners and guiding for the more experienced fisho's.
I've been uder the radar for some time now as so many people want to catch up with me to learn my unique style of squid fishing as it is so effective on tiger squid that cant be learnt from books or any other way apart from hands on....so in the coming days I will be posting up a link to the morton bay squid club on face book so people can contact me and book a session with me.
Intially I will be weekend based only as I have to work as well as most of you do but as time go's on I will do midweek sessions by special appointment as I work nights and this restricts me to a limitted amount of time to spend with clients....so stay tuned guys and gals
good things are about to come to those who want it
cheers

ps...Glen...when are you coming to brizzy...I would love to take you out for a session....on the house
I have know Paul for quite a few years and learnt how to catch squid in Moreton Bay from him.

If you want to catch squid(s) or improve the number of squid you catch I highly recommend booking a session with Paul.

What is the best wind direction to clear up the water for squidding? Or in other words when does the wind dirty up the water so that squidding is a waste of ime. Thanks.
Any Brisbane people chasing squid? If so, I'm interested in getting a feed but don't have a boat. Any genuine locations would be welcome.

Thanks in advance

Squider

I'm keen to get some squid.

Is night time the better option? Incoming tide or is outgoing tide better?

I've got a few squid jigs, what would be the recommended weight for the jetty at Shorncliffe, or Manly

Thanks in advance,

Squiddy

I must be the only person here, Last time some one replied in here seems to be in 2013.

the mug is still alive.....just....

most of my time is taken up by the face book pages we run....guiding and just chasing squid in general.

it was off to another good start this year but then I had a heart attack and needed open heart surgery plus 5 bypasses........yes 5

I'm at home now resting and healing as it's a slow road to recovery that will take some time.

if you want to check out what I've been up to.....

search up on face book

Moreton Bay Squid Club

or

Squid Guide Moreton Bay

happy fishing

geez mug, sorry to hear that your not well,,i hope you get well soon , keep your chin up n you'll be out squid fishing soon. :th

best wishes bud.

been out for a couple of quiet land based sessions with mates....not allowed to go by myself yet....done well too with some quality size tigers going in the bag.

mug

hey mug, im curious, how big do these tiger squid grow? what hood lengths do they get too? or the biggest youve seen caught around brisbane?

decent stuff range in hood size from 30 to 40cm and 1-2kg......you hear wild stories of bigger stuff but as the old saying go's and up thru indo they grow to 4-5kg as they are a warm water squid and NOT cold as ever body thinks they are.

G'day people,

Anyone in Brisbane / Moreton Bay area got a spare seat for another, I'm new to squidding and unfortunately have no boat. I don't come here often enough to check for replies. Probably too late to catch any squid this time of year. May, June , July probably peak times, would this be true?
