I'll be onboard tomorrow night with a few friends from work- Made my reservations last week. I figure it'll be a good night with the new moon coming up, and we'll fish the outgoing tide.
Will be the one in a stormline jacket/grundens bib, bailing squid left and right <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

One small squid, like 6-8 inches. Tried a bunch of spots, even one that I thought would be great because I used to bail fluke in it every drop and they would be spitting squid but no takers. This was my go to fluke spot every time, but I never got any big ones there, max was like 19.5, and now with the new regs I probably won't spend much time on that spot anymore because I think it's a feeding ground for the smaller guys....
There were plenty of squid in the area, staying just outside the perimeter of our lights, but they didn't want to take the jigs and they were all pretty small.

could've been worse. You could've got skunked. The size doesn't surprise me though. That spot seems to always have smaller squid.
I hear ya on the new fluke regs too. I'm not even going to bother in CT this year. ....just sticking to Rhodie. It may have the largest size regs but it also has bigger/more fish.
Hoping for full coolers/buckets tomorrow night

is it true that these charter boats won't let you take any sort of gps device on board because they don't want to know the actual fishing spots??

it's true. most list that on their websits. if you're caught i don't think they'd think twice about tossing it over board.

I don't know what the point of even bringing a GPS on board would be. If you had your own boat, why would you be paying to go on another boat to chart their spots? Just do what most ppl I see doing.....follow the boat out of the dock and mark where it stops. LOL.
Disclaimer: I do not condone following charter boats lol

Today (Thursday) 10 am to 4 pm at the wall...managed 32 squid of medium to small size. One lady insisted on casting over everyone and causing tangled lines whenever the bite turned on. Older woman catching 3:1 over everyone else...same jigs, seemingly the same technique, I will have to study her more closely! Met some nice people...none from the site today.
Ink stained and glad of it!
