You may have a general idea due to lady squids blabbing, but I have the exact coordinates to spot X plotted into my super squid finder!!! Bwahhhahhhahahha! I am the evil squid catching king!
By the way, all the 24 inch schoolie bass that I filleted and released from spot x were loaded with squid!!!!!!!!!
Ok, I'll give a report and bring some life back in this thread =)

Sat night...late...around 20 between 2 of us. Around 2 hrs of jigging.

Mon night....also late....my best night of the yr so far. Just me and the "squid slayer" (as I call

him) =)

Put in 3 hrs, 38 caught....lost many. Ink all over my jacket, boots, work lights...hands, face, you name

It..Had to take off so I could get at least a few hrs of sleep before work...and they were still around

when we left.
Also, a tip...you see tons of bait, move, if not wait for the bait to thin out....

....some bait, but not many, stick around.

Just my observations, of course....

Good luck all.
Going on the FF this weekend. light tackle should be fine right? This is going to be my first trip off a boat for squid, any tips? and last question, How should i rig my poles? 2 jigs with a half ounce weight at the bottom?

Thanks for any help!

[quote name='squirtherder09' post='15266' date='May 18 2009, 05:37 PM']Hey Al, I'm working in the AQ and Blount buildings helping Ed manage the facilities over there and am a grad student in the Bradley Lab at East Farm. So not really a GSO grad student, just one that works alot at GSO!

Gonna probably go tonight. Maybe GI, maybe a secret spot. We'll see how it goes...

George, trying our luck at GI tonight, perhaps I'll see ya out there. (I'm hard to miss)

oh btw... the dude next to me last night, his gf or wife, whatever was telling me how she cooks up the squid with some pinapple and sauce... sounded wocked good.

anyone have any squid recipies they would like to share with the forum??
Was down at GI with some friends Friday the 15th. Arrived at 9pm and the fog was really thick. Couldn't see anything but the lights on the other bridge across the water.

GI Bridge was still hopping though. When we arrived 9pm we met up with two friends who had been at it since 4pm. Only 1 squid(approx 8") btw the both of them.

It was a very quiet night. Lots of people out but very few squid caught. Ended up snagging two more squid among the 5 of us (also approx 6-8") and left around 3AM. The group of guys next to us(Mojo, his son and his son's friend) ended up hauling in few skates, 3 spider crabs and chicken lobster.

GI=Goat Island, near newport. The bridge going on to it by the marriot is where a LOT of people will fish for squid.

It's been more of a social gathering for the past season or two than a fishing spot, but hey, people still have fun and sometimes will accidentally catch a few squid. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />
Goat Island is in Rhode Island.
