I guess I'm going to try squid fishing for an hour this afternoon (even though I'm sure if it would be worth my time).
Will report if I catch anything
I'll be going to G.I. tomorrow night!
All I know is that I am GISS member 007 and damn proud of it!!
I may try later tonight pending family commitments.

Oh yeah one more thing has anyone tried out these new Yo-Zuri - Ika Minnow jigs yet ? If so how'd you do ?
MK Skler- I have 2 of the colors you have listed and have tried them both with no luck on either one. I thought they looked cool when I got them but the squid don't think they're too cool.

Thanks Striper, I got two of them too i'm waiting for tomorrow night to try them out myself... I have the red one and the pink one, what colors do you have ?
Another slow night- there for about an hour and a half with only one to show for it. A school came through and a few people hooked up, but that was all I saw.
I've been using one of those Ika Minnows as a high dropper the past two nights- The first night I got a squid on the chartreuse ika, and tonight scored one on a traditional pink Yo. The minnows may work a little better once the sand lance come in thick- I've never gone wrong by trying to "match the hatch".
today me and a couple GISS is going down to G.I and gona revolutionise the squiding scene
were gona be using a High Intensity Discharge (HID) from a car headlight unit
something like this , and were gona use a car headlamp to project it into the water
LETS HOPE THIS WORK <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />
- inked for life
hopefully my buddies will take pics when they get back

hahaha HID Lamp ? Whos headlight you gonna take of for that ?? good idea though .... what time you heading out there tonight ? Pick a spot on the wall cause you know the bridge is gonna be packed ! ! But yeah call me when you head out i'm gonna roll there with a couple heads I think ....
Just got back, and nothing good to report. Bridge was pratically empty, with a few squid here and there.... maybe with better weather this weekend comes better luck....
tried direct HID lights before.. dont work.. at least the white light..
Few friends were coming up with the idea of using the yellow tint one but instead of a direct beam, try reflecting it to broad cast the light to a larger area. (haven't tried that)
We have discussed the options, we found that the HID though strong, is not what the squid like. For some reason they light the large high candle watt lights..
I think the squid may be attracted to the heat emitted off with the lights.
Was in newport.. Nada.. saw 10 come up amongst 15 people.
