Dont really have a fav sz...My favorite is whatever's working lol. So it all depends...
But for what its worth, I normally use 3.5 down to 2.0
The 2.0 was the winner for me 2days ago while a week ago was 3.5.

I mainly use 3.5s but will go down to 2.5 in autumn or up to 4.0 in spring.

Size 3.0 - 3.5 mostly effective here in Batam because the current is strong enough in normal condition, even have to add a small-medium hole sinker to make it faster to go down to the bottom.

I think Size 3.0 onwards is too big to be used in Malaysia Waters. I squid on Malaysia Kelongs. Hence, i feel that Size 2.0 is best, followed by Size 2.5.

I personally love to use size 3.00 and 3.5...mostly size 3.00, also like Ichang, I tied a medium size sinker at around 20cm from the jig for it to sink faster to the bottom.

I like using 2.5 size squid jig here in Sydney

I mainly use 3 or 3.5 here on the west coast of the Eyre Peninsula SA when the big calamari are more prevalent and drop down in size to a 2.5 if things are a bit quite.

I even use a little 1.6 at times to entice some of the smaller timid feeders and it is always a source of amusement to other squidders on the jetty when I use it.
