Without a doubt it has to be Breaden jigs! These babys are one of few jigs that are actually designed and made in Japan. They have one of the strongest sets of barbs and also a solid body which means they don't need a massive weight to sink them and also means they sink more even. Also another quality brand that are made and designed in Japan are keystone jigs, you wont be able to make sense of the website for these as it is only a Japanese product which has recently been released to the rest of the world. Only a couple of tackleshops around Australia will stock these jigs.
I use a squid jig with battery and blinking red LED light buit in to it. the blinking will last about 1 hour.
diawa emeraldas by a country mile...
Big fan of Yamashita, as i think their glow lasts the longest out of all brands. I do alot of night time squidding so glow and warm jackets are ideal for my fishing. I have recently started using GanCraft and Harimitsu during the daytime and im very imppressed with their catch rates also. Cant remember the name of the GanCraft its on my webpage
www.squidhunterswesternaustralia.com its the Orange Prawn been catching alot on that. Also out of the Harimitsus been testing out my favourite has to be the AR definately a squid slayer.

Do the expensive jigs catch more than the el-cheapo versions? Or do they just look prettier?
I enjoy collecting squid jigs and I have a very comprehensive range of premium quality jigs from various manufacturers (i.e. Yo-Zuri, Harimitsu, Yamashita, Gan Craft, Evergreen etc.). Â At this point, I should be clear in saying that all these products are great in my opinion and they do lure squid quite effectively. Â
Â
Having said that, I really love my squid fishing and I firmly believe in using jigs that will give me the best opportunity to have a successful trip. Â To this point, my primary go-to or working jigs are from Yamashita, particularly the EGI OH Q Live series. Â More recently I've been using the EGI OH K and the EGI OH Q Live Search series with excellent results. Â
