I was just wondering what are some squid jigs i should use and how to catch octopus

and are there any of these mollusks in capitola wharf, santa cruz wharf, half moon bay. and if so a map included would help also where on the wharf,pier, or harbor and what bait and jig and time and stuff also where are some other saltwater places to fish less or about 1 hour from palo alto

Don't bother with jigs for octopus. Simply take a 5 gallon bucket, drill several small holes in the bottom and one 1.5" hole in the lid. Throw bait and a rock in the bucket, tie a rope to the handle and drop it down, let it sit for a awhile. When you pull it up, the sea-water will drain from the holes drilled in the bottom of the bucket leaving only the octopi that had made its way into the bucket through the hole in the lid. It's pretty simple....
